Kasey & Olivia

Kasey: Drowning.

Olivia: My biggest fear…whoa…um, not knowing things, I guess.

Kasey: Oh, that’s a good one.

Olivia: Like, I’m not really scared of, like, death, or anything. But, I’m afraid I don’t know what’s going on afterwards.

Kasey: Uh, I almost drowned as a child. And also, one of my best friends, I witnessed his drowning whenever I was in 7th grade.

So…and ever since then, anytime I have a nightmare, like, I’ll drown in my nightmare. And, it was really weird.

I remember a long time ago…I was so scared of any bodies of water…it’s not that bad anymore, but I still will never swim alone.

It’s like a weird mental thing. I just don’t enjoy it.

I’m also a lifeguard, though. So, it doesn’t make any sense. I haven’t had one of those nightmares recently, so that’s nice.

Olivia: I grew up in Orlando, Florida.

Kasey: I grew up in Thomasville, Georgia. It’s really way down south.

I like that Macon’s bigger. My hometown’s really small. To be completely honest, they’re just very conservative. And, I feel like Macon’s a lot more progressive.

Additionally, I’m exposed to a very small demographic in my hometown. It’s mainly, like, Caucasians.

And here, you know, on a college campus…you’re exposed to a ton of different ethnicities. And, I really value that. I was only exposed to such a small group of people as a little girl.

Olivia: To me, it kind of feels smaller. I like that I can just go downtown and know where everything is…and just enjoy everything.

Or, I can go up the street and go float down the river. It’s fun.

Kasey: We love each other. We’re really good friends.

She always is one of the most optimistic people I know. I’ve never ever seen her mad in my entire life. She is one of the happiest people I know. And she’s so good at if you feel happy or if you feel sad, she just really, like, vibes into that. She’s just such a positive, fun, happy person to have around.

It is a gift, sister.

Olivia: I guess it might kind of be, like, the opposite. Like…

Kasey: That I’m not happy?

Olivia: No, no. It’s not that. You’re always happy with me.

But, I can’t stand up for myself very well, and then I have her to do that for me. She won’t let anyone mess with me.

Kasey: I’m so stubborn.

Olivia: She’s like my backbone.
